Dr. Elisabeth Stern is one of Switzerland's most sought-after experts on cross-cultural management, women leadership and sustainable change. She studied psychology and ethnology, and received her Ph.D. at the University of California in Cultural Anthropology.
Elisabeth went on to teach political and economic ethnology at the University of Zurich for five years, where she researched culture-based approaches to conflict resolution, and for two years as a research associate at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare, where she focused on cultural differences in leadership styles.
As a scientific consultant to Ciba-Geigy (now Novartis) in Basel, she worked on a two-year project on changing societal values to help the company build a future-based strategy.
In the 1990s, far ahead of her time, she served for eight years as president of one of the first financial institutions offering green investments, and sought to integrate ecology and profitability.
Since early 2001 she has been working as a consultant on female leadership, intercultural competence, sustainable ecology and paradigm change.

"One of the best books I ever read. It puts me into an environment of effectiveness and getting the job done. I ordered a special edition of 750 copies for associates and clients, with our logo on the cover. It's a small and high-leverage investment in my people’s leadership." – Peg Thatcher, international president, Project for the End of Rape; CEO, Thatcher & Associates
